Ok, I enjoyed this one but not as much as the first. Despite the threat to her very existence, Maggie cannot stay away from nerdy Nick. And Nick is the scientist who has come to prove that werewolves do exist. This is the sequel to How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf and it features Cooper’s sister, Maggie, who is the alpha (yay kick-ass female alpha FINALLY!!) of their local pack. Combining romance and a career can be tough for anyone for a werewolf in love with a human, it may be disastrous. ![]() With interpack war threatening, Maggie can’t afford to be distracted. Cross-species dating is problem enough for a harried alpha female, but on top of that, a rival group of werewolves is trying to move into the valley. and even worse, she can’t convince herself to stay away from him. ![]() Maggie just can’t seem to convince Nick to leave. What a pity that researcher Nick Thatcher turns out to be so drool-worthy, and that his kisses make Maggie want to sit up and beg. ![]() So when a snooping Outsider comes to Grundy to investigate rumors of lycanthropic shenanigans in the area, the valley’s pack alpha, Maggie Graham, resolves to chase him away, even if doing so takes a quick bite on the butt. This became Charleston (1981), which would be followed by four more novels of the American South. Publishing her first novel, Who's that Lady in the President's Bed? (1972), Ripley was still struggling as an author when, on a trip back to New York City, an editor invited her to write a novel set in the historical South. Tiring of this, she moved to Virginia, where she found low-paying work in a book store and continued to write. in 1955 at Vassar College, where she studied Russian, she tried, unsuccessfully at first, writing novels while working for various New York publishing houses writing copy for dust jackets and catalogs. I’ll definitely keep going with them, because I’ve thoroughly enjoyed The Gift and The Riddle. So I listened to the first two (of four) books on Audible. I had never even heard of them before, but having read the blurbs, they definitely sounded like the kind of thing I would like. When discussing with my friend Sally a few months ago what our favourite fantasy series from when we were young were, she mentioned the Pellinor series, or the Riddle of the Treesong. ![]() |
